MILWAUKEE, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay Phoenix volleyball team showed resiliency and commitment on Sunday afternoon at Milwaukee, claiming the final two sets and winning in five sets to improve to a perfect 4-0 in league play. The Phoenix (12-4, 4-0 HL) found itself trailing 2-1 on the road against its in-state rival, but was able to come back to edge the Panthers (9-6, 3-1 HL) 26-24 in the fourth set and 15-11 in the final frame.
Four players tallied double-digit kills for Green Bay, as Jessica Wolf (15), Samantha Anthon (12), Lydia DeWeese (11) and Taylor Totka (10) all came through at various key moments in the match. Defensively, Austyn Everingham (20), Maddie Yoss (16), Vanessa Buman (12) and Emily Lautenschlager (10) all recorded double-figrures in digs.
