Green Bay Pours in 95 Points in Convincing Win Over UMKC

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men's basketball team displayed another strong offensive performance on Monday night, taking down UMKC 95-77 in its final game of the Bill Frack Tournament at Stroh Center. The Phoenix (3-2) shot a season-best 53.3 percent (32-for-60) in the game and scored a season-high 95 points in its third game in three days.

Warren Jones and Charles Cooper scored 17 points each, while Khalil Small added a season-high 16 in the winning effort. Turner Botz went 4-for-4 at the free throw line and knocked down three three-pointers, finishing with 15 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Trevor Anderson tallied double-digit points for the fifth-straight game to open his Green Bay career, while Tevin Findlay added nine points off the bench and dished out four assists.

Trailing 27-20 with about 7:30 to play in the game, Green Bay would go on a 16-0 run that would last over five minutes. The Phoenix would outscore UMKC (3-2) 23-7 to close out the first half. Green Bay then went a 12-4 run to open the second half, putting away a team that was looking to go 3-0 at the weekend tournament.

The Phoenix return home on Saturday, Nov. 26, when it hosts Central Michigan. Green Bay will raise its Horizon League Championship and NCAA Tournament banners before the game, as the 2015-16 team will also receive their championship rings. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
