Green Bay Ready for Postseason NIVC on Thursday at the Kress Center

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Playing in its first postseason tournament since the 2003 season, the Green Bay volleyball team will face off with Bowling Green in the First Round of the 2017 Postseason NIVC on Thursday at the Kress Center for a 6 p.m. serve. The winner will advance to the Second Round where it will face either IUPUI or Illinois State, who will meet in the First Round on 3:30 p.m. at the Kress Center earlier on Thursday. The Second Round match will be played on Friday night at 6 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Green Bay won its first two matches of the HL Tournament in Cleveland, beating UIC and Oakland en route to making its second-straight HL Tournament Championship. Ultimately, the top-seeded Vikings came away with a 3-0 victory, handing the Phoenix its second-straight runner-up finish in the tournament. GB finished the HL season with a 9-7 record and after the league tournament, at an even 15-15 on the season. 

RPI UPDATE
The Phoenix rank 104 in the latest edition of the NCAA RPI rankings, the second-highest ranking among all Horizon League teams (CSU is 67). Bowling Green is ranked 123, while IUPUI is 110 and Illinois State finished the highest among the GB pod, owning an 88. 

SETTING IT UP
Maddie Yoss ranks 16th in the NCAA in assists per set with 11.48, which also leads the Horizon League. Yoss has racked up 1,250 assists over the course of the season, which ranks 5th all-time for an individual in a season in program history. The Brookfield native has racked up 14 double-doubles this season as well, on her way to earning Honorable Mention All-League honors. 

FOTY
Taylor Wolf has enjoyed one of the best seasons for a freshman in program history, leading the team in kills (371) and ranking second in digs (278) and assists (130). Wolf was named the Horizon League's Freshman of the Year and also landed on the All-League Team for her outstanding season.
