Murphy's Career-High 18 Points Leads No. 21/24 Green Bay Past Bradley, 72-40

Box Score GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Karly Murphy scored a career-high 18 points to help lead No. 21/24 Green Bay past Bradley in its final home matchup of 2017. The Phoenix (9-1) held the Braves to their season low in points in the 72-40 rout on Saturday afternoon.

Bradley (5-4) stuck around through the first quarter of play, as the Phoenix held a 22-17 advantage heading into the final 10 minutes of the first half. Green Bay, however, put the game away in the second half with a 23-4 run capped off by a half-court buzzer beater from Murphy.

The Phoenix offense struggled early in the second half but its defense created too many problems for the Braves to collect any offensive traction and cut into the deficit. Green Bay held Bradley to just 12 combined points in the second and third quarters as the Phoenix headed to the fourth with a 67-29 lead.

Green Bay dominated the paint like it has all season, outscoring Bradley 36-16 inside on its way to a 72-40 victory. The Phoenix also held a substantial advantage in points off turnovers, 20-6.

Green Bay limited its offense to only 11 turnovers on the afternoon, tying its best mark on the season, while forcing Bradley into 16.

Murphy's career afternoon came on a 7-for-10 effort from the field and saw the redshirt freshman pull down five rebounds, dole out two assists and collect one steal in 25 minutes. Allie LeClaire finished with 15 points, four rebounds and a team-high three assists in 28 minutes.

Frankie Wurtz enjoyed her third-straight double-digit scoring game with 12 points and finished 4-for-5 from the field combined with a perfect 3-for-3 effort from beyond the arc.

The Phoenix shot above 50% (54%, 27-50) for the fourth time this year and won its eighth game by double digits in 2017-18. Bradley was held to just 30% (15-50) from the field. The win also marked Green Bay's sixth over an opponent with a winning record this season.

Green Bay will now ready for its final nonconference matchup of the season, as the team faces off against Northwestern on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Rosemont, Ill.
