Volleyball Visits TCU on Wednesday for Quarterfinal Matchup in Postseason NIVC

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Following a pair of impressive home wins last weekend, the Green Bay volleyball team is set for its Quarterfinal matchup against TCU on Wednesday night in the Postseason NIVC. The Phoenix (17-15) will visit the Horned Frogs for a 7 p.m. first serve, with the winner advancing to the semifinals to face the winner of the earlier match that day, UC Irvine vs. Texas Tech.

GETTING HOT
Green Bay won its first two matches in its first postseason appearance since 2003, coming back to beat Bowling Green 3-2 before getting past Illinois State 3-1 in the Second Round of the NIVC. GB moved its record to two matches above .500 in the process, and has now won 17 or more matches in three-straight seasons. 

PUTTING UP NUMBERS
In its first two matches of the NIVC, Green Bay is averaging 61.5 kills per match and 58.5 assists per match. GB racked up a season-high, and the second-highest total in program history, 126 digs in its defensive effort against Bowling Green. Emily Lautenschlager and Austyn Everingham, along with libero Vanessa Buman, were flying all over the court defensively that evening, helping the Phoenix win in five sets. 

SETTING IT UP
Maddie Yoss ranks 16th in the NCAA in assists per set with 11.48, which also leads the Horizon League. Yoss has racked up 1,358 assists over the course of the season, which is tied for 3rd-most all-time for an individual in a season in program history. The Brookfield native has racked up 15 double-doubles this season as well, on her way to earning Honorable Mention All-League honors. 

HUNGRY LIKE A WOLF
Jessica Wolf and Taylor Wolf have combined for 51 kills over the course of their team's first two NIVC matches, providing a strong presence at the net for GB. T. Wolf recorded a double-double against Illinois State with 13 kills and 16 digs, while Jessica Wolf led the team with 15 kills in the winning effort.
