GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's soccer team (0-1-0) opened the 2017 season this afternoon as the squad welcomed St. Cloud State to Aldo Santaga Stadium for a 4 p.m. kickoff. The Phoenix offense moved the ball well in the contest but was unable to convert on any of its 16 shot attempts, eventually falling 1-0 to the visiting Huskies.

Green Bay was able to control the match despite allowing the lone goal, owning advantages in shots (16-5), shots on goal (7-2) and corner kicks (5-2). The Huskies' keepers combined for seven saves to help hold off the Phoenix attack and secure victory.

GOAL SUMMARY
52' | SCSU | Hannah Marion (Assists - Kelli Santo Paulo, Kaitlyn Dziubinski): After Dziubinski pushed the ball back to Santo Paulo, Marion worked out towards the left side of the net and was able to create space from the defender before shooting the ball to the far side and beating the keeper high.
