Lindstrom Leads 23/22 Green Bay in Wire-to-Wire Win at Oakland, 81-48

ROCHESTER, Mich. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Securing its sixth-straight win and closing out its three-game road trip with a perfect record, the Green Bay women's basketball team took down Oakland, 81-48, to move to 17-2 on the season and 7-1 in Horizon League play.

Jessica Lindstrom became Green Bay's all-time leading rebounder in the division I era with her ninth double-double of the season, scoring 22 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Green Bay scored the first five points of the game after a three-pointer from Lindstrom and a layup from Karly Murphy. Oakland fell even further behind when Lindstrom hit her second triple and tacked on a free throw to give Green Bay a 9-3 advantage.

Lindstrom scored 13 points in the first quarter and pulled down four rebounds, needing just one more to become the program's all-time leader in the division I era. At the 8:01 mark in the second period, Lindstrom secured the record-setting rebound and passed Chari Nordgaard's total of 862 to become the program's career leader in the division I era.

Oakland (10-9, 3-5 HL) did manage to get within four points of Green Bay, 26-22, with 6:56 to play in the half after a pair of free throws from Sha'keya Graves, but that was the closest the Golden Grizzlies would come the remainder of the game.

At the break Green Bay had constructed a double-digit lead at 36-26, largely in part to Lindstrom's 15 first-half points.

The Phoenix continued its offensive production in the third and received even more support from its lock down defense, outscoring the Golden Grizzlies 17-5 in the first six minutes of the frame. Green Bay poured in 22 points compared to Oakland's six to hold a 58-32 lead heading into the final quarter.

Green Bay's dominance carried on into the final minutes of action, with its most productive offensive frame coming in the fourth. The Phoenix scored 23 points to close out the victory and picked up its sixth-straight win by defeating Oakland, 81-48.

Green Bay shot a season-high 59% (30-51) from the floor and limited Oakland to just 28% (14-50). The Phoenix also shot 55% (11-20) from beyond the arc and buried a season-best 11 triples.

Green Bay will return to the friendly confines of the Kress Center for its next four games, starting with UIC on Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m.
