GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay volleyball team (15-9, 10-2 HL) will take on last away match of the regular season this Friday at 5:00 p.m. CT, visiting Oakland (9-14, 5-7 HL) in Rochester, Michigan. "We expect the remainder of Horizon League play to be very tough," said head coach Abbey Sutherland. "At this point of the season, it's what we want, and it's what we need. Our process-based goals are to compete with passion and purpose, and to work relentlessly to have the best team chemistry. The details matter, and we are aiming to improve at the little things on and off the court."

Opponent Outlook
Oakland had a rough start to conference play, but they have been playing well in their last three games, contending with Cleveland State but falling in a five-set match, defeating Milwaukee in three sets, and most recently, taking down the number three ranked UIC Flames. With the win, they have moved up to sixth place in the rankings.

The Grizzlies are the second-best blocking team in the league, but the Phoenix rank second in opponent blocks, meaning that they in turn are one of the best teams at limiting their opponents' blocks. Otherwise, Oakland is near the middle of the pack offensively, with both sophomore middle hitter Jamie Walling and redshirt senior middle hitter Krysteena Davis ranking in the top ten for hitting percentage, kills, and points during conference play.

Their lowest ranking comes in the digs category, but again, the Grizzlies seem to be improving as of late: sophomore libero Lindsay Wightman collected the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week honor last week for averaging over six digs per set.

Wright State is another potential dark horse in the league, standing in seventh, just one spot away from making the tournament. They were able to take down UIC early on during conference play, but have also lost to Youngstown State, the lowest-standing team in the league at the moment. Most recently, the Raiders lost to Northern Kentucky in four sets, only two weeks after beating the Norse in five.

Wright State owns very similar team rankings as compared to Oakland, with the exception of service aces, where the Raiders lead the league. In conference play, however, Green Bay has produced more aces and blocks than Wright State.

Their best player, sophomore middle blocker/left side Teddie Sauer, is also the one performing most of those aces, ranking within the top 50 in the nation in that category. She is also the sole Raider that ranks within the top ten in the conference for kills and points.

Last Weekend Recap
The Phoenix had a long away weekend in Ohio last Friday and Saturday, toppling Youngstown State in straight sets before falling to Cleveland State the next day, snapping their historic win streak.
