MILWAUKEE, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's basketball team completed the regular season sweep against in-state rivals this afternoon on the road at Milwaukee, defeating the Panthers at the Klotsche Center, 65-36, to move to 4-0 this season against teams from Wisconsin.
Although the Panthers (17-8, 7-5) were on the board first, the Phoenix (22-2, 12-1) controlled the game from the start and didn't take long to build a double-digit lead in its rivalry matchup. After the opening quarter, Green Bay led Milwaukee 18-8 and allowed the home team just seven field-goal attempts.
From the 2:04 mark in the second quarter to the 2:01 mark in the third quarter, the relentless Green Bay defense didn't allow the Panthers to score a single point. During the scoreless period for Milwaukee, the Phoenix offense capitalized with a 20-run to lead things 47-17 late in the third.

Jessica Lindstrom sank her third three-pointer of the afternoon with just seconds remaining on the clock.
The Panthers offense was held to single digits the first three quarters of the matchup but managed to break into double digits on its final basket of the fourth, a triple from UWM's Alyssa Fischer. Green Bay dribbled the clock out on its final possession to claim a 65-36 victory and extend its winning streak to 11 games.
Green Bay shot 46% (25-54) from the field while holding the Panthers to just 28% (11-40). The Phoenix had a successful day from beyond the arc as well, shooting 10-of-21 compared to Milwaukee's 4-of-20 performance.
The Phoenix surrendered a season-low four turnovers on the afternoon and forced 10. Green Bay won the battle on the boards, 36-24, and outscored Milwaukee 18-10 in the paint.
Allie LeClaire led the Phoenix in scoring with 16 points. The senior also doled out five assists and corralled three rebounds.
Jessica Lindstrom turned in a double-digit scoring performance with 13 points and pulled down five rebounds.
After a slower week on the court, the Phoenix schedule heats up next weekend with three games in five days starting at Cleveland State on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m.
