Team Notes
  • Green Bay will play its final regular season game of the season at Detroit Mercy
  • GB will play in Detroit in each of the next two weekends, returning next week for Motor City Madness
  • The Phoenix won 96-80 at Oakland on Thursday night to register its first road win of the season
  • GB made a program-record 15 3-pointers against Oakland
  • Sandy Cohen III scored a career-high 36 points on Thursday night
  • GB is now 4-0 when scoring 90 or more points this season
  • GB defeated the Titans 95-83 to open the Horizon League season earlier this year at the Resch Center
  • Khalil Small notched his 11th 20-plus point scoring effort of the season, scoring 20 points at Oakland
  • Kameron Hankerson has now scored in double-figures in four-straight games
CAREER COHEN
Sandy Cohen III enjoyed his best game of his collegiate career in his last game at Oakland, scoring a career-high 36 points on an efficient 10-for-17 shooting night. Cohen buried a career-high four 3-pointers (on six attempts) and tallied his fourth career double-double by grabbing 11 rebounds, while also dishing out a career-high 5 assists. Cohen carried the Phoenix to an upset win at Oakland, going 12-for-13 at the free throw line and scoring 22 points in the second half against the Golden Grizzlies. The Seymour native is averaging 25.0 PPG over his last four games and has seen his season average rise from 13.7 PPG to 16.1 PPG. He ranks 7th in the Horizon League in scoring with 16.3 PPG in league play this year.

3-POINT BARRAGE
Green Bay was on fire from 3-point range in its last game at Oakland, knocking down a program-record 15 3-pointers on Thursday night. The Phoenix has now made 11 or more 3-pointers in four-straight games, and is averaging 12.75 3-pointers made over those four games. GB has made more 3s than its opponent in eight-straight games, but now leads the Horizon League in 3-pointers made per game with 9.3. The team has four players this year that have made 26 or more 3-pointers in HL play this season, led by David Jesperson's 30 made 3s.

SEEDING SCENARIOS
With IUPUI's win over Wright State on Friday, the seeding scenarios for Green Bay in next week's Motor City Madness have become clear. With a win over Detroit Mercy, GB will be the No. 7 seed and will play the No. 10 seed, Detroit Mercy, which is now locked into the No. 10 seed. If GB loses, it will play in the 8v9 game against the loser of Cleveland State and Youngstown State on Saturday. Regardless, the Phoenix will be playing on Friday night at Little Caesars' Arena.

ON FIRE
The Phoenix shot a sizzling 57.1 percent (32-for-56) from the field against Oakland, while shooting 57.7 percent (15-for-26) from 3-point range. That percentage is the highest percentage for GB in any game this season and it's the highest since the team shot 59.6 percent (34-for-57) against Detroit Mercy on Feb. 26, 2017, last season. The 32 field goals made against Oakland are tied for the most against an HL opponent this year, while the 96 points scored are the most the team has scored in any road game this season.

SMALL CLIMBING THE LADDER
Khalil Small notched his 1,000th career point on Jan. 4, becoming just the 28th player in program history to reach that milestone. He has scored in double-figures in 29 of 30 games this year, the most double-figure scoring games by any HL player this season. Below is where Small ranks all-time in career scoring at UWGB:

13. Ryan Tillema (2005-09) – 1326
14. Carrington Love (2012-16) – 1289
15. Khalil Small (2014-18) - 1256
