Green Bay Splits on Final Day at Youngstown State

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) ---The Green Bay softball team earned a split on Saturday afternoon at Youngstown State, falling in a one-sided contest, 9-2, before coming from behind to claim a 3-2 win in the series finale.

YSU 9, GREEN BAY 2
Youngstown State hit four home runs in the first game of the day, helping to solidify a 9-2 victory and seal the series win for the Penguins.
 
Green Bay's RBIs came from the bats of Chyanne Onstad, who went 2-for-4 in game one, and Oliva Magadi.
 
The Penguins increased its winning streak to nine games with the win, but the Phoenix wouldn't let it reach double digits.

GREEN BAY 3, YSU 2
Green Bay was on the board first in the second matchup after Marjorie Sloan doubled to right-center to score Morgan Bihun.
 
YSU answered back in the bootom of the frame with a two-run home run to left field and put the Penguins up 2-1.
 
Green Bay bounced back and scored two runs in the top of the seventh on Onstad's two-out, two-run double down the right-field line.
 
The Phoenix shut the Penguins down in the final inning and secured a 3-2 win, improving to 7-12 in Horizon League play.

The Phoenix concludes the regular season next weekend at Oakland, a series which has been moved to Rochester, Mich., due to an unplayable field in Green Bay.
