GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Celebrating the Grand Opening of the newly-constructed Kress Family Outdoor Recreation Complex, the Green Bay men's soccer team welcomed Hartford on Friday night in front of a packed crowd and a vast alumni base. Green Bay's Tomer Zloczower found the back of the net in the closing minutes to tie the game and secure a result for the Phoenix during its first official action in the stadium.

The team found itself down early after the Hawks took advantage of a ball deflected in the box directly in front of the net, which was sent into the Phoenix goal from Hartford's Xahne Reid. The Green Bay defense would ultimately thwart all future offensive attempts from Hartford, allowing only a single shot on goal all night.

As time ticked down and the Phoenix still trailed, it was apparent Green Bay was only going to be afforded a few more opportunities in regulation. Tomer Zloczower found the back of the net in the 88^th minute to tie the game and prevent the Phoenix from suffering its first loss in the new stadium.

Both teams held one another scoreless in the back-to-back 10-minute overtime periods, as the game ended in a 1-1 tie before fireworks were set off in honor of the stadium's grand opening.

"I think tonight was the perfect example of why the game is 90 minutes long and not 45 minutes.  For some reason, we were not ready and we struggled in the first half," head coach Jeremy Bonomo said. Fortunately, our guys found that drive and really excelled in the second half and overtime.  It was a good result considering the adversity we experienced in the first half. I'm proud of the fight we showed and our will to never quit".

GOAL SUMMARY
24' | HART | Xahne Reid (Assist: Nyrik Antoine): A ball deflected inside the Phoenix box was corralled by Antoine and headed over to a charging Reid in the center of the goal for the first score of the match.
 
88' | GB | Tomer Zloczower (Assist: Ian Smith) A time winded down, Smith pushed the ball through the Hawks' defense to an open Zloczower who was able to beat the keeper one-on-one.
