GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- After falling behind 2-0 in the early action, the Green Bay women's soccer team scored three-consecutive goals to claim a come-from-behind win at Aldo Santaga Stadium on Sunday afternoon, 3-2.

The game came to a halt with 7:22 left on the clock after lightning touched down within eight miles of the stadium. Play was unable to resume as the storm grew closer and lightning strikes continued to occur around the area. Green Bay was granted the win after the stoppage, having surpassed the NCAA regulated 70-minute mark in order for the game to end with a result.

Green Bay notched its first win of the season after goals from Brianna Messner, McKayla Kertscher and the Panthers' defense – who found the back of its own net after a miscommunication.

The Phoenix dominated the ball for the majority of the match, finishing 16 total shots to the Panthers' six. The Phoenix also held a strong advantage in corner kicks, 8-1. Kertscher led the offense with four shots, placing all of them on-goal.

Freshman Taylor Reichow collected the first win of her career, notching a pair of saves in the victory.

The Phoenix will return to the field in Brookings, SD, on Friday, August 31 at 6 p.m.
