YPSILANTI, Mich. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women's golf team set a program record for best team round with an impressive 298 on Monday, playing in the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational at Eagle Crest Golf Club. The Phoenix placed seventh in the field, finishing ahead of three Horizon League teams in Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy and Northern Kentucky.

The opening round score of 298 marks the first time in the history of the program that the ladies finished below 300, led by Isabelle Maleki's 73. Courtney Matschke, Lori Meyer and Katie Warpinski each recorded a 75, with Ashley Kulka notching a 77. The best individual round of the tournament by a Phoenix golfer was shot by Meyer, who had a personal-best 72 in the final round to finish T7 at 7-over par.

GB held the lead after one round of play on Monday, and after a second round 309 was in fourth place. The final round score of 312 gave the Phoenix a 919 and +55 final tally. 

The Phoenix will take its clubs to Lassing Pointe Golf Course in Union, Kentucky, to play in the NKU Fall Classic next week.
