Green Bay Defense Steps Up On the Road to Seal Win at IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay women's basketball team locked down IUPUI at the Jungle on Thursday night, defeating the Jaguars 45-43 after allowing only two points in the fourth quarter.

Green Bay keeps its chances at a share of the regular season title alive following the victory, as the Phoenix remains one game behind Wright State heading into the last game of the regular season.

Green Bay forced a season-high 26 turnovers in the matchup, besting its previous total of 25 which was also set against IUPUI. The Phoenix surrendered only 11 turnovers in the game and owned a 17-7 advantage in points off turnovers.

IUPUI used a 14-9 third quarter to pull even with Green Bay at 41-41 heading into the final 10 minutes of action. GB locked down IUPUI in the final minutes, including a stretch of 8:57 where the Jaguars were held scoreless as the Phoenix went on to secure a 45-43 victory.

The Phoenix will head to Chicago for its final matchup of the regular season, taking on UIC Saturday, March 2 at 12 p.m. Green Bay will then shift its focus to the Horizon League Tournament, beginning with a home game on Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
