INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Jen Wellnitz and Laken James were honored by the Horizon League for their efforts throughout the 2018-19 regular season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.

Wellnitz was named Horizon League's Defensive Player of the Year, as well as placed on First Team All-Horizon League and the all-defensive team. James earned a Second Team all-Horizon League nod for her contributions.

Wellnitz becomes the first player in program history to earn multiple defensive player of the year honors. She was also named to the all-defensive team for the third-consecutive season and honored with a first team selection for the first time in her career.

James was honored with a second team selection for the first time in her career after leading the Phoenix in scoring through Horizon League play.

Both Wellnitz and James were recently honored by the league for their success in the classroom as well, as the seniors each earned spots on the Horizon League's All-Academic team.
