GREEN BAY, Wis. – A familiar face is returning to the Green Bay women's basketball program. Head Coach
Kayla Karius announced the hiring of
Cassie Schiltz as an Assistant Coach on Monday afternoon, reuniting her with her former teammate and current Assistant Coach
Jasmine Kondrakiewicz on the Green Bay coaching staff. Both Schiltz and Kondrakiewicz graduated in 2025 after leading the Phoenix women's basketball team to back-to-back NCAA Tournament Appearances.
"We're excited to welcome Cassie back to Green Bay! She had an outstanding career here as a player and understands our program's tradition and culture at a high level," said Karius. "Her strong relationships within the community make her a great addition to our staff, and as an alum, she'll bring a relatable perspective while passing on her knowledge to the next group of Phoenix players."
Schiltz played for the Phoenix for six seasons, from 2019-2025, and alongside the aforementioned Kondrakiewicz, has played in the most games of any Phoenix player at 151. Schiltz was a mainstay throughout her career, with the Phoenix winning 75% of its games with her on the roster. Cassie is third on the program's all-time three pointers made list at 195, and second all-time with 563 attempts. The Luxemburg, Wis. native scored over 1,000 points in her career (1,314), pulled down over 600 rebounds (611), and dished over 300 assists (311).
Schiltz finished her career as Green Bay's all-time leader in free throw percentage at 88.9%, aided by a perfect 100% 34-of-34 season in 2025. She was also a two-time Horizon League All-Tournament Team selection in 2022 and 2024.
"I would like to thank head coach
Kayla Karius for the opportunity to join the Green Bay coaching staff," said Schiltz. "I'm incredibly grateful to be returning to the university that gave me so much. This community and program are so special, and I'm so excited to be back."
After graduating from UWGB in 2025 with her Master's degree in Business Administration, Schiltz went on to become an Assistant Coach at UW-Oshkosh, where she helped lead the program to a 28-4 record and an appearance in the NCAA Final Four in DIII last season.
The Luxemburg native was named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll four times in her career. Along with work across youth camps, Schiltz has coached both the 15U and 17U girls teams for Wisconsin Legends Basketball.
