SPRINGBORO, Ohio --- The Green Bay men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Wright State Invitational on Monday, playing in its final spring tournament before the Horizon League Championships in Florida next week. Green Bay was tied for second after the first round, but was unable to make up the ground and capitalize in the second round at the Heatherwoode Golf Club (Par 70, 6,780 yards). The tournament was scheduled for three rounds, but rain shortened the event to only a single round on Sunday and Monday.
Ben Gilles and Bennett Hutson each finished T24 at 8-over par, with Hutson firing off a 71 in the first round. Max Pasher finished a stroke behind each of them, finishing T27 for the Phoenix.
The Phoenix will now head to the Sunshine State for the Horizon League Championships, which will start on Sunday, April 21 at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
