GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Serving as Subregional hosts of the 2019 Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper, Green Bay will welcome CSUN (Nov. 25) and Colgate (Nov. 26) to the Kress Center the week of Thanksgiving. CSUN and Colgate will face off on Nov. 24 at the Kress Center to open the subregional.

Subregional Schedule - Kress Center
Sunday, November 24 - CSUN vs. Colgate 8 p.m.
Monday, November 25 - CSUN vs. Green Bay 7 p.m.
Tuesday, November 26 - Colgate vs. Green Bay 7 p.m.

Green Bay has never faced either CSUN or Colgate in its history. The Phoenix won the 2K Empire Classic Subregional last year, which was hosted by Eastern Washington, beating both the hosts and Morehead State. JayQuan McCloud was named Subregional MVP, while Shanquan Hemphill was named to the All-Tournament Team.

ABOUT COLGATE
Patriot League Coach of the Year Matt Langel guided the Raiders to the Patriot League regular season and tournament titles before they gave Tennessee all they could handle in the NCAA Tournament…it marked the first league championship for Colgate since 1996…four starters and the top five scorers from a year ago return, led by Patriot League Player of the Year forward Rapolas Ivanauskas, who scored 15.9 ppg and had a team-best 7.8 rpg…guard Jordan Burns earned second-team All-Patriot honors with his team-high 16.3 ppg and 171 assists…he netted a record 35 points in the Patriot League final and 32 against Tennessee…Tucker Richardson (8.1 ppg, 132 assists) garnered Rookie of the Year laurels…Colgate is in the Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper for the first time.

ABOUT CSUN (California State University-Northridge)
In his first season at CSUN, Mark Gottfried led the Matadors to a seven-win improvement from the previous season, the most wins since 2013-14, and a berth in the CBI…CSUN rode the coat tails of forward Lamine Diane, who became the first player in Big West history to earn Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and Newcomer of the Year honors in the same season…Diane led the Matadors in scoring (24.8 ppg), rebounding (11.2 rpg), blocks (72), and steals (50) and the nation in field goals made (340)…he was joined on the Big West first-team by guard Terrell Gomez, who tallied 19.2 ppg to go with 96 assists…this will be the first Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper for CSUN.

Begun in 2007, the Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper has become one of the nation's most eagerly-anticipated early-season men's basketball tournaments. Regularly attracting the top programs in the country, four teams from the most prestigious conferences in the country host a pair of games before heading to Brooklyn, N.Y., and Barclays Center – the home of the Brooklyn Nets – to complete in the nationally televised Legends Classic Championship Rounds.
