GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Head coach
Will Ryan completed his first recruiting class at the helm of the Green Bay basketball program, as three in-state standouts inked national letters of intent to play for the Phoenix during the signing period. Kamari McGee (Racine, Wis.), Brayden Dailey (Cuba City, Wis.) and Cade Meyer (Monroe, Wis.) will all join the roster next season.
"After being named the head coach at Green Bay in the middle of June, as well as recruiting during a pandemic, I'm pleased at how quickly and thoroughly our staff was able to build positive and trusting relationships with three tremendous young men and their families," said Ryan. "We feel that Kamari, Brayden and Cade all have high ceilings and extremely bright futures wearing the green and white. We are excited about the addition of this trio of born and bred Wisconsinites who embody the Green Bay Way."
McGee, Meyer and Dailey are considered three of the top-10 players from Wisconsin in the 2021 class.
"Last summer, prior to being hired at Wheeling University, I had the pleasure of coaching Brayden and Cade at Wisconsin's basketball camp. I knew right then and there that they were the type of student-athletes you dream of coaching. It's exciting that now it will come full circle."
Kamari McGee
Height: 6'0"
Position: Guard
Hometown: Racine, Wis.
High School: Racine St. Catherine's
- First Team All-County
- First Team All-Conference
- Fourth Team All-State
- Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Play of the Week
Head coach Will Ryan on McGee:
"We needed a point guard for the 2021 class and Kamari had all the intangibles we were looking for. He is an electrifying, playmaking guard who can create for himself, but more importantly, makes his teammates better. Kamari personifies what you want in a point guard. He's a leader, floor general, and most importantly, a winner from a very successful high school program. Sporting a 4.0 GPA, we know Kamari has a very bright future both on and off the court."
Brayden Dailey
Height: 6'7"
Position: Forward
Hometown: Cuba City, Wis.
High School: Cuba City
- Three-Time WBCA D4 First Team All-State
- AP All State
- First Team All-Telegraph Herald
- Dodgeville Chronicle POY
- Three-Time All-Conference Honoree
Head coach Will Ryan on Dailey:
"Brayden embodies the true meaning of student-athlete as he carries a 4.0 GPA. He's a long and athletic guard/forward who will help us inside and out. His versatility to play multiple positions and stretch the defense will be paramount to our success. Playing for the legendary Coach Petitgoue at Cuba City High School, we feel confident Brayden will be well prepared to elevate his game even further."
Cade Meyer
Height: 6'8"
Position: Forward
Hometown: Monroe, Wis.
High School: Monroe
- Honorable Mention All-State
- Second Team All-Conference
Head coach Will Ryan on Dailey:
"Cade's energy, athleticism, and versatility jumped out at me immediately last summer. When I took over at Green Bay I was thrilled to find out he was still available. As an all-state high jumper he runs the floor like a gazelle. He has the potential to be a match-up problem with his ability to play on the block and on the perimeter. His length and athleticism allow for him to guard multiple positions as well. Cade comes from good genes as his dad, Craig, played college basketball for Loyola (Chicago) and Milwaukee."
