GREEN BAY – The Green Bay men's basketball team will head east to Syracuse, N.Y., this season for a matchup with the Orange at the Carrier Dome on December 8. It will be the third meeting between the two programs, with Syracuse securing wins in the each of the first two matchups.

Head coach Will Ryan, who was recently hired as the eighth head coach of the Phoenix, will lead the program in his first season after a successful stint at Wheeling University. GB welcomes back reigning Horizon League Freshman of the Year Amari Davis and senior guard PJ Pipes.

ABOUT SYRACUSE
Syracuse was 18-14 overall and 10-10 in ACC play last season. The Orange had also won its first ACC Tournament game before the national pandemic ended the college basketball season. Syracuse returns four of five starters, including junior guard Buddy Boeheim (15.3 ppg). Head coach Jim Boeheim enters his 45th season at the helm of the program.

Green Bay will host 10 Horizon League opponents, Montana State, Northern Illinois, Eastern Illinois and Mercer as part of the Gotham Classic.
