CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Green Bay men's golf team wrapped up their fall season Tuesday afternoon with a ninth-place finish at the Xavier Invitational at Maketewah Country Club. GB started hot with a 292, but cooled down on days two and three, shooting 300 and 296.
The Phoenix were led by the trio of
Austin Schnell,
Zak Kulka, and
Ryan Schuelke. Schnell ended the tournament T17 after shooting +6, while Kulka and Schuelke both finished T19 after shooting a +7.
Morehead State and Northern Illinois tied at the top of the leaderboard with +12, with Morehead State winning the tiebreaker for first place based on the score of the fifth man on the final day. Northern Illinois' Reece Nilsen ran away with the individual tournament, going -6 over the three-day event. Four others tied for second at +1.
The Phoenix is done for the fall, but will resume their season in the Spring at the Orlando Invitational on Feb. 28 – March 1.
