Haupt Finishes T1, Leads Phoenix at Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate

ROCHESTER, Mich. – After a strong day three, the Green Bay men's golf team stormed up the leaderboard at the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate to finish the weekend in fifth place. The event was held at Katke Cousins Golf Course in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Mason Haupt finished tied for first individually, firing off rounds of 71 (E), 68 (-3), and 70 (-1). Haupt tied for first with Notre Dame's Mike Qiu. Qiu won the playoff hole to grab the top spot.

After three rounds, the Phoenix finished the weekend +31. GB shot +19 in round one, +8 in round two, and +4 in round three. Butler won the invitational, shooting +5 on the weekend. Toledo finished second with a +16.

Trent Meyer was next on the leaderboard for GB, finishing the weekend +11 and in 33rd place. Yinta Yang had a strong Sunday, shooting one under par and +13 on the weekend for a 42nd-place finish. Brett Wieland rounded out the top four for GB, finishing the weekend +16 for a 50th-place finish.

The Phoenix men are right back in action next weekend at the Badger Fall Invitational at TPC Wisconsin, starting on Sept. 21.
