GREEN BAY, Wis. – Calli Gentry of the Green Bay volleyball team was named the Nike Horizon League Player of the Week Wednesday afternoon, as announced by the league office. The award is the first of Gentry's career, as well as the first for the Phoenix in the 2021 season.
Last week the redshirt-freshman led the Phoenix to back-to-back sweeps over Youngstown State and Robert Morris. Gentry extended her lead at the top of the Horizon League assists leaderboard, racking up 72 assists across the two matches, moving her up to 10.05 assists per set. The St. Charles, Ill., native also led GB with a .313 hitting percentage and averaged 3.83 digs per set.
This season, Gentry has racked up 804 assists, good for seventh-best in the NCAA.
The Phoenix will resume Horizon League play Friday when they host Purdue Fort Wayne at 6 p.m.
