SCOUTING THE NORSE
Northern Kentucky started the season with back-to-back home games. Their opening game was Wednesday, November 10 against Kent State, which they dropped 80-73. The Norse got their first win of the season in a Sunday, November 14 showdown against Eastern Kentucky. The Norse cruised to a 76-61 win, led by Lindsey Duvall who notched a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double. Duvall is leading the team with 23.5 points per game, while Ivy Turner is the only other NKU player averaging double-digits, with 11.0 points.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Wright State is in the middle of a season-opening four-game road trip. The Raiders dropped their season opener at Bradley, 84-65, and then fell to Toledo, 73-56. Destyne Jackson leads the Raiders with 14.5 points, while Jada Roberson chips in 11.0 points.

HOME SWEET HOME
Green Bay began their three-game homestand last Saturday with a 71-54 victory over North Dakota State. The Phoenix are 6-0 in their six previous home games all-time against the Norse.

SALUTE TO SERVICE
Thursday's game against NKU marks the first of two Military Apprecation Nights. All military members and veterans will receive two free tickets, courtesy of Fleet Farm. The second Military Appreciation Night is Thursday, December 2nd.

LEAVE IT TO LEVY
Junior Sydney Levy has made her mark with the Phoenix as a solid contributor. After averaging 9.3 points last season, Levy has scored 15 points in the first two games, shooting 44.4 percent overall and 4-9 beyond the arc. She has committed just one foul out of the 35 team fouls, and is one of five players with seven or more total rebounds.

POINTS FOR PINGEL
Senior Meghan Pingel scored a career-high 22 points last Saturday against North Dakota State. Pingel shot 7-11 overall and was 7-10 from the free throw line. Defensively, she was able to snatch four rebounds, collecting five total on her way to a double-double in Green Bay's 71-54 victory.

BROOKLYN ONE-FIVE
Brooklyn Blackburn has been a consistent force for Green Bay so far this season. After two games played, Blackburn has scored the second most points with 15 (7.5 ppg), tied with Sydney Levy. Blackburn also has the second-highest field goal percentage (50) among all Phoenix with at least 10 shot attempts.

FRESH PHOENIX FACES
Green Bay welcomes four true freshmen to the 2021-22 squad.  Calli Genke, Bailey Butler, Jenna Guyer, and Maddy Schreiber make up the 2021-22 recruiting class. Genke and Schreiber are local recruits. Genke prepped at Freedom High school where she was a two-time First Team All-Conference selection, as well as a two-time All-State team selection. Schreiber prepped at Kimberly High school where she was twice named Second Team All-Conference, once named First Team All-Conference, and received an All-State Honorable Mention selection as well.

BORSETH'S SUCCESS
Since the 2012-13 season, when Head Coach Kevin Borseth began his second stint with Green Bay, the Phoenix have won 84 percent of their home games, with a record of 113-22. That includes a 13-0 home record in 2017-18, and a 18-0 home record in 2012-13. There were also three consecutive seasons from 2014-2016 where the Phoenix lost one game at home. Borseth has compiled a history of success against the Norse as well.
  • Green Bay's average margin of victory against NKU in regular season action is an astounding 18.5 points.
  • Borseth has guided the Phoenix to three HL tournament victories against NKU, coming in 2015, 2017, and 2019. The average margin of victory in those games is much closer at 5.33 points.
  • Since NKU entered the Horizon League in 2015, the Phoenix are 13-2 against the Norse.

RETURNING MINUTES
Green Bay returns three of its five main starters from a 2020-21 season that saw the team finish third in the Horizon with a 14-4 conference record. Meghan Pingel, Hailey Oskey, and Jasmine Kondrakiewicz are the three starters returning. Pingel will play a large role for the Phoenix, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Last year she started in all 22 games and swiped a team-high 42 steals. On the offensive end, she averaged 5.2 points per game and 4.9 assists per game. Last season Oskey started in all 16 games she appeared in, averaging 7.9 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. Kondrakiewicz offers a big presence for the Phoenix inside, scoring 7.5 points and blocked a team-high 19 shots last season. So far this season, Kondrakiewicz has scored six points and grabbed seven rebounds in one game played against NDSU.
