ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Green Bay men's basketball team fell to the UNC Greensboro Spartans 60-58 at Eckerd College Thursday. Kobe Langley dropped in a go-ahead layup for the Spartans (4-0) with just 3.4 seconds left on the clock.
The Phoenix (0-3) had two players score in double-figures, led by Donovan Ivory, who had 19 points and six rebounds. Emmanuel Ansong tacked on 11 points, two steals and two blocks. Lucas Stieber also chipped in eight points and five assists.
Ivory was the most prolific shooter for the Phoenix, shooting 50 percent (6-for-12) and draining three treys along the way. His 19 points led all scorers in the game, and is a new career-high, surpassing his 16 points against Indiana State on November 9th.
Defensively, Green Bay held UNC Greensboro to only 40 percent shooting from the field, including 25 percent from beyond the arc.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Phoenix started hot, jumping out to a 27-11 advantage. UNC Greensboro responded with a 16-7 run, culminating in a series of plays made by Dante Treacy, who had an assist and two free throws to close the first half. The Phoenix still entered halftime with a 34-27 advantage, doing most of its first half damage by scoring 18 of its 34 points in the paint.
UNC Greensboro proceeded to take a 40-36 lead before Green Bay went on a 7-0 run, capped off by a Donovan Ivory three, to seize a 42-39 lead with 10:03 to go in the contest. UNC Greensboro re-asserted control, outscoring the Phoenix 20-15 the rest of the way to hand Green Bay the 60-58 loss.

Green Bay will continue play in the Jersey Mike's Classic on Friday and Sunday. They will face FIU on Friday at 7 p.m., and Weber State on Sunday at 11 a.m. Both games can be streamed for free on Pluto TV. The next home game is Saturday, November 27th at 6 p.m. against UW-Superior.
