GREEN BAY, Wis. --The University of Green Bay women's basketball team scored 34 points off of turnovers on the way to an 83-48 victory against the Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers at the Kress Center Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Green Bay started out the scoring by going on a 13-0 run, culminating in a bucket from Brooklyn Blackburn, to take an early lead with 6:14 left in the first quarter. The Phoenix then added eight points to that lead by the end of the period and entered the quarter break with a 31-10 advantage. Green Bay did most of its first quarter damage in the paint, scoring 24 of its 31 points close to the basket.

The Phoenix kept its first quarter lead intact before going on an 8-0 run starting at the 2:55 mark in the second period, highlighted by a three from Schiltz, to increase its lead to 46-23. The Phoenix proceeded to tack on three points to that lead and enjoyed a 53-27 advantage heading into halftime. Green Bay was strong from deep in the period, knocking down four three-point shots to account for 12 of its 22 points.

Green Bay continued to preserve its halftime lead before going on a 9-0 run, punctuated by a basket from Maddy Schreiber, to expand its lead further to 64-32 with 4:44 to go in the third. The Phoenix held onto that lead for the rest of the frame and entered the fourth quarter with a 69-37 edge. Green Bay played well near the basket, scoring 10 of its 16 points in the paint.

The Phoenix coasted to the win from there, increasing their margin of victory by outscoring the Pioneers 14-11 in the fourth quarter. Green Bay took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring eight of its 14 points in the paint.
