MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- The Green Bay women's soccer team came up just short in the Horizon League Semifinals against Milwaukee Thursday afternoon. The top-seeded Panthers scored a goal in each half, taking the contest by a final score of 2-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Milwaukee started the game with an extended period of pressure on the Green Bay goal, which culminated with a 25th minute header from the Panthers' Lesley Kiesling.
The Phoenix defense regrouped, and kept GB in the game until an 85th minute goal from Milwaukee put the game out of reach.
GAME NOTES
- Mason totaled eight saves for the Phoenix out of 29 total Panthers shots.
- Eight saves is tied for Mason's second-highest mark of the season.
- Sophie Heyboer was a threat for Green Bay, registering the Phoenix two shots on goal.
- Ashley Hunter also recorded a shot in the contest.
