MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. --In their second straight game against Power Five competition, the Green Bay men's basketball team fell on the road to Minnesota, 72-56. The Phoenix led 29-28 at the half, but were outscored 44-27 in the second half.
The Phoenix (2-9) had two players score in double figures, led by Kamari McGee, who had 14 points. Donovan Ivory tacked on 11 points and Cade Meyer added nine points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
Green Bay did a great job disrupting Minnesota shots in the contest, coming away with six blocks. Randy Tucker and Meyer led the way individually for the Phoenix with two rejections each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind 10-6, Green Bay went on an 8-0 run with 13:42 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Emmanuel Ansong, to take a 14-10 lead. The Phoenix then lost some of that lead, but still entered halftime with a 29-28 advantage. Green Bay did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 20 of its 29 points close to the basket.
Minnesota came out hitting shots in the second half and proceeded to take a 61-46 lead before Green Bay went on a 7-0 run, finished off by Ivory's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 61-53 with 4:27 to go in the contest. Minnesota responded and outscored the Phoenix the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 72-56.
GAME NOTES

WHAT'S NEXT
GB will have some time to regroup over the holidays before re-opening Horizon League play. The Phoenix will start league play on the road at Northern Kentucky on Thursday, Dec. 30 before traveling to Wright State on New Years Day.
