ROCHESTER, Mich. — The Green Bay volleyball team managed to take the first set (25-22), but the host Golden Grizzlies stormed back with wins in the next three (25-14, 25-17, 25-22) to take opening match of the series.
Green Bay hit .129 in the matchup, while Oakland performed well on its home blacktop court and finished hitting .231.
The Phoenix was led by
Alexandra Zakutney, who nothced a double-double with 16 kills and 13 digs, provided GB with three aces.
Anna Eaton finished with seven kills and a team-high three blocks.
Annelise Sparks led the Phoenix defense with 16 digs.
Green Bay rounds out the series with Oakland on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
