A five-run first inning placed control of the first game in the hands of the Phoenix.

The matchup's first two runs were plated after back-to-back walks for Green Bay, with Becca Edwards being hit by a pitch and Morgan Bihun earning a base on balls, both collecting RBIs for their efforts.

Green Bay's lead grew to six runs in the third inning after Samantha Saloun singled to right field which brought Tiffany Giese around to score.

A home run for RMU in the fourth made it a 6-2 game favoring the Phoenix, who went on to add three insurance runs in the sixth inning. To eventually earn a 9-2 victory.

Giese, Saloun and Daija Williams all recorded multiple hits for Green Bay in the pairing. Eight different members of GB's squad notched an RBI in the game. The Phoenix outhit the Colonials 10-6.

RMU saw its first lead of the entire series come in the third inning after a trio of colonials touched home plate.

The advantage proved to be short-lived as GB answered with three runs of its own in the bottom of the frame.

A single from Saloun in the fourth inning brought Randi McKay home and put the Phoenix in front, 4-3.

Robert Morris tied the game with a home run and added two runs in the top of the seventh to lead things 6-4 needing only three runs to secure a victory. GB was able to cut the deficit in half but couldn't pull even with RMU, falling to close the day, 6-5.
