DAYTON, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay volleyball team faced off against league-champion Wright State in back-to-back matches on Monday. Although GB battled in both pairings, WSU was able to win both matchups in straight sets.
The Phoenix ends the season at 4-12, while the Raiders finish a perfect 14-0 in league action and earned the crown of regular-season champions.
Wright State hit .214 (40-13-126)Â in the day's first match, while Green Bay finished the contest hitting .135 (38-20-133) while try to keep pace with the hosts.
Alexandra Zakutney led the Phoenix in kills with 10 and also added seven digs while tallying two aces. Iro Chounta nearly notched a double-double in the affair, recording 11 digs and nine kills.
Calli Gentry directed GB's offense and notched 26 assists on the team's 38 kills.
The Raiders were led by Megan Alders who finished with 11 kills.
Green Bay will now look ahead to the fall 2021 season with high hopes, as the Phoenix returns an experienced roster combined with a talented recruiting class.
