Phoenix Women's Golf Places 4th on WGCA's Academic Top 25

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida – The Green Bay women's golf program added another feather in its cap, earning a top spot on the Women's Golf Coaches Association's (WGCA) academic top 25 list, turning in the nation's fourth-highest grade-point-average with a 3.951. New Mexico (3.993), Stanford (3.990) and Arkansas State (3.973) made up the top 3, with the Phoenix checking in right behind a season after finishing runner-up in all of Division I women's golf. 

It is the second honor in the past few weeks for GB, as the program placed six student-athletes on the 2020-21 WGCA All-American Scholar team as well. Seniors  Katie WarpinskiLori Meyer and Leah Hansen and juniors Courtney MatschkeAshley Kulka and Isabelle Maleki all earned the recognition. This marks the third-straight year that Kulka, Hansen, Matschke, Meyer and Maleki earned a spot on the academic team.

The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team GPA which includes all of the team's student-athletes for the 2020-21 season. View the full release here.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
