ABOUT THE JAGUARS
IUPUI dominates from downtown, both on offense and on defense. The Jaguars are fifth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage on defense, allowing opponents to make treys at a clip of just 22.2-percent. Meanwhile, they are 14th in three-point field goals made per game (9.2), and are 25th in three-point field goal percentage on offense (36.4-percent). The Jaguars boast the second-best scoring offense and third-best scoring margin in the Horizon League, putting up 71.7 points per game with a margin of 12.0. Currently, IUPUI is ranked 15th in the Mid-Major Top 25.

ABOUT THE FLAMES
Jaida McCloud holds the key to success for UIC. The Peoria, Illinois native is one of the best players in the Horizon League, scoring 18.2 points per game. She also leads the Flames in rebounds, averaging 6.1 per game. As a team, UIC is last in the Horizon in defensive rebounds per game (19.7), and sits second-to-last in offensive rebounds per game (9.1). The Flames are also last in scoring margin (-11.5) in the HL.

SERIES HISTORY
The Phoenix and IUPUI have met only eight times, including six games since IUPUI joined the Horizon League for the 2017-18 season. Going back to the first meeting in December of 1999, Green Bay has a 6-2 record on the Jaguars. Meanwhile, Green Bay has cooled off the Flames of UIC, owning a 72-6 record all-time. The Phoenix has won 19 consecutive games against UIC, with the last loss going back to January 23, 2010. Of the six losses against UIC, five have come at UIC, with the other at a neutral location.

LAST TIME OUT
Because of COVID complications, Green Bay's game against Oakland was canceled. Previous to that, the Phoenix was supposed to play Detroit Mercy, but the Titans had to forfeit also because of COVID-19. The last time Green Bay played a game was December 20, a 71-67 home win against Central Michigan.

LEAN ON LEVY
Junior Sydney Levy has made an impact off the bench. Averaging 20.4 minutes per game, Levy leads the team in three-point attempts. Levy's 14 made threes have her ranked 21st in the Horizon League. She played one of her best games of the 2020-21 season against UIC, pouring in 17 points in 21 minutes, including five treys on 11 attempts from deep. Her 17 points were also the third-highest in her career.

MAKIN' MADDY
True freshman Maddy Schreiber was named Horizon League freshman of the week on December 13, and then again on December 27. Schreiber has shown the ability to score in a variety of ways. She ranks on the team:
  • First in field goal percentage (46.9-percent), 30-of-64 from the field).
  • First in three-point percentage (400-percent, 10-of-25 from beyond the arc).
  • Third in free-throw percentage (87.5-percent, 14-of-16 from the charity stripe).

CHARITY STRIPE CHANCES
Of the 348 Division one teams, Green Bay currently ranks 29th nationally in free-throw percentage (77.2-percent). The Phoenix has four players who have at least 10 free throw attempts and are shooting 80+ percent from the line:
FILLIN' IT UP
Starting point guard Meghan Pingel is coming off of a strong performance in GB's home win over Central Michigan. In the contest, the redshirt-senior scored 10 points while also registering six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

COUNT ON CASSIE
As an underclassman, Cassie Schiltz continues to have a pivotal role on the GB squad. She scored a career-high 18 points that included a clutch score late in the game against Central Michigan. Schiltz was also a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe in the game, improving to a solid 9-of-11 (81.8-percent) on the season. She is third on the team in three-point field goal percentage (35.5-percent on 11-of-31 shooting). Schiltz has been reliable, being one of six players averaging 20 or more minutes per game, while averaging 7.2 points per game.

ON THE HORIZON
After playing UIC, the Phoenix will head home to begin their second-largest homestand, perhaps the biggest of the season. Cleveland State, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Milwaukee will visit the Kress Center. Currently, the Vikings and Panthers sit just above the Phoenix in Horizon League standings.
