DAYTON, Ohio - The Green Bay Volleyball team's nine-match win streak came to an end Saturday afternoon after a heard-fought road loss to Wright State. There wasn't much to separate the two teams, but the Raiders ended up taking the match in straight sets (20-25, 26-28, 22-25). The loss dropped Green Bay's record to 14-6 overall and 5-1 in Horizon League action.

The Phoenix was led by a double-double from Alexandra Zakutney, who registered 11 kills and 11 digs on the day. Cora Behnke also added 10 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Abby Gardner chipped in for 12 digs and Angie Gromos had five blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Phoenix fell behind early, losing the first set 25-20. Wright State never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up five times before the Raiders took control.

SET 2 | It looked like Green Bay would tie it up in the second set, building their way to a 19-14 lead. But the Raiders closed the set on a 14-7 run to take a 2-0 advantage.

SET 3 | Wright State finished off the sweep with a set three win. The third set once again came down to the final points, but Wright State grabbed the advantage for good at 22-21 and eventually took the set 25-22.

GAME NOTES
» Annelise Sparks had a team-high two aces in the loss.
» Green Bay attackers were helped by a team-high 35 assists from Calli Gentry.
» Zakutney has finished with double-digit kills in three of the last four.
» GB's nine-match win streak was one of the longest in program history. The Phoenix won 10 straight in 2018 and nine straight in 1987.

ON THE HORIZON
The Phoenix will take on the Oakland Golden Grizzlies next Friday at the Kress Events Center at 6:00 p.m. Friday is also Pride Night at the Kress.
