Green Bay Drops Final Contest of the Season to Milwaukee 1-0

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's soccer team fell 1-0 to the Milwaukee Panthers Wednesday night at Aldo Santaga Stadium. Emily Murphy led the team with two shots on goal.

With the loss, Green Bay ends the 2022 campaign with a 3-11-2 record and 1-7-2 record in Horizon League play. Milwaukee earned the HL regular season title with the win, finishing the year with a 10-3-3 overall record and a 7-1-2 HL record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers took a 1-0 lead into halftime, with MKE holding Green Bay to just one shot. Meanwhile, Milwaukee racked up 19 first-half shots highlighted by a Lainey Higgins goal in the 32nd minute.

Green Bay had a golden opportunity late in the second half when an Emily Murphy free kick was deflected, and Zoey Pagels was there for a potential game-tying goal but kicked it wide right. Milwaukee would hold on for the 1-0 win.

GAME NOTES

  • Annie Mason collected a career-high 13 saves for the Phoenix after facing 34 MKE shots.
  • Milwaukee had the lone yellow card of the game.
  • Four different Phoenix (Bailey Wiemann, Olivia Trotter, Murphy, and Pagels) all had a shot recorded.
