Green Bay is 13-12 versus Oakland all-time. The Phoenix won six of the first eight meetings and has taken seven of the last 11. At home, Green Bay is 6-2 against the Golden Grizzlies, including four consecutive wins. The Vikings from Cleveland State have a 45-21 record against the Phoenix. However, Green Bay has won three of the last five meetings.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
First-year head coach Krista Rice leads Oakland, who enters Friday's match with a 6-11 record. Patti Cesarini leads all Golden Grizzlies with 233 kills and 762 total attacks. She also has a team-leading 261.5 points, which is good for second in the Horizon League.

Clarke Adams and Libby Gentile are both approaching150 kills. Defensively, Jessica Riedl leads the way with 30 blocks. Emily Wischmann paces Oakland with 321 digs, an average of five per set.

ABOUT THE VIKINGS
Chuck Voss is in his 23rd season with Cleveland State, boasting a record of 385-271. Voss came to Cleveland State in 2000 and revived the program, helping guide the Vikings to their first winning season in 19 years in 2002. The Vikings have won the Horizon League regular season and HL Tournament five times since his arrival.

Laken Voss is a player to watch on the CSU squad. She leads the team in kills (196), points (226.5), and total attacks (626). Her 196 kills are sixth in the conference, just behind Milwaukee's Ari Miller, who has tallied 198.

TOO HOT TO HANDLE
Before the loss at Wright State last Saturday, Green Bay's win streak was impressive. The Phoenix was on a tear, tallying six sweeps in 11 games for the first time since Nov. 2019. GB also matched their longest win streak (9) since winning 10 consecutive in 2018. The streak was the second-longest in program history. Green Bay currently has the highest hitting percentage in the league at .252. The next highest is Youngstown State at .224. GB is one of four teams with a hitting percentage higher than .200.

KILLIN' IT!
Alexandra Zakutney has been a dominant force for the Phoenix. She paces the team in kills (220, 3.19 per set) and points (261.0, 3.78 per set). Zakutney is good for fourth in the Horizon League in kills, behind Oakland's Patti Cesarini (233), IUPUI's Briana Brown (234), and Youngstown State's Paula Gursching (308). The Ontario, Canada native had a team-leading 400 kills last year, best for sixth in the HL.

PERENNIAL PAALMAN
Tiffany Paalman, a redshirt-sophomore, is second on the team in points (244.0), only behind Zakutney. She's also second in kills (194) and has totaled the fourth-highest total attacks (426), just behind Shannon Coughlin's 427. Paalman is part of a 1-2 punch in the middle with graduate transfer Angie Gromos. The pair has combined for 164 blocks (Gromos has 86, Paalman 78), which is significantly higher than the next-best tandem of Lydia Latimer and Madison Olinger from Cleveland State, who have combined for 126 blocks.

ON THE HORIZON
Green Bay is beginning a four-game homestand, which includes matchups against Milwaukee and Purdue Fort Wayne next weekend. The Phoenix has seven home contests and five road games remaining in the regular season. A game to highlight is when GB hosts Horizon League front-runner Wright State on Friday, October 28, which is the Breast Cancer Awareness Game. Currently, Wright State is the only undefeated HL team left and has won eight straight matches.
