MILWAUKEE, Wis. --The Green Bay volleyball secured a season sweep over the Milwaukee Panthers Friday night in straight sets (25-23, 29-27, 25-16).
The conference win improved Green Bay's record to 22-10 overall and 13-5 in Horizon League action.
The Phoenix offense was paced by Alexandra Zakutney, who finished with 18 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .5, and by Shannon Coughlin, who had 13 while hitting .478. Zakutney also led the team defensively with a team-high nine digs.

ON THE HORIZON
Green Bay has locked up the No. 3 seed in the Horizon League Championships next week and will await the result of the Youngstown State – Wright State match tomorrow to decide their opponent in the first round. If Youngstown State wins, GB will match up with Milwaukee in the tournament's first round. If Youngstown loses, GB and YSU will play each other in the opening round.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Phoenix took the first set 25-23 propelled by a strong performance on the attacking end. Green Bay registered a .333 attack percentage with 13 kills in the set victory. The Phoenix went down 9-3 early, but rallied back to grab the first set. The Green Bay front row blocked four Panthers attacks in the set.
SET 2 | The second set needed extra points to decide a winner, but the Phoenix pulled it out 29-27 to grab a 2-0 advantage. The Phoenix was strong again offensively, finishing with a .311 attack percentage with 20 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands five times, the Phoenix took control for good at 28-27 and rode that advantage to victory.
SET 3 | Green Bay finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning set three. The green & white grabbed control of the set early at 5-4 and never trailed again to win 25-16. Green Bay was efficient in the third set, totaling 16 kills while only committing two attack errors.
