The long-time rivals will meet for the 109
th time on Saturday evening, which is the most the Phoenix has played a single opponent. Green Bay owns a 65-43 record against UIC, including an impressive 36-15 at home. GB has defeated UIC in 8 of the last 10 home meetings. Both squads last met on February 24, 2022, when the Flames won a close game 81-77 in Chicago.
The Flames, who were in the Horizon League from 1994-2022 (Midwestern Collegiate Conference from 1994-2001), officially joined the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1.
ABOUT THE FLAMES
UIC is off to a solid 4-2 start and is coming into tomorrow's matchup on a two-game win streak with wins over Stonehill and Holy Cross. Luke Yaklich is in his third year as the Flames' head coach and owns a 27-31 record.

LAST MATCHUP
The Phoenix fell to Utah Valley 79-56 on Sunday in the final game of the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic. Green Bay was paced by Clarence Cummings, who scored 16 points while recording two rebounds and an assist.
WHAT'S UP BRO?
Zane and
Donavan Short, products of Denmark, Wis., and Denmark High School, officially joined the team during the offseason. Donavan, the younger of the two brothers, committed to Green Bay on Nov. 12, 2021, while Zane joined in the offseason.
MAKE WAY FOR MEYER
Sophomore
Cade Meyer is off to a good start this season. He is shooting 50.0-percent on 16-of-32 from the floor and is 15-of-25 (60 percent) inside the arc. Meyer is coming off a strong 2021-22 campaign in which he was named Horizon League Freshman of the Week once and was tabbed to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team.
KEEPING IT LOCAL

Will Ryan has amassed a total of eight players on the 2022-23 roster that are from Wisconsin. Ryan's 2021-22 squad also featured eight players from in-state, which was the highest total of in-state players since the 2009-10 season when there were seven players as such under Tod Kowalczyk.
SWISS ARMY NATE
Junior guard
Nate Jenkins showed off his versatility against Queens on November 18. The Delafield, Wis. native played the most minutes of any Phoenix (30) and was one of four GB players to tally eight points while collecting a team-leading five rebounds, five assists, one block, and one steal.
WHAT DO YOU ZAE?
Sophomore guard
Zae Blake has made the most of his opportunities in the first five games of the season. The Washington, D.C. native averages 20 minutes per game and has shot 66.7-percent from the floor (18-of-27), 66.7-percent from deep (6-of-9), and averages a team-leading 9.8 points per contest. Against Wisconsin, he finished with a team-leading 15 points, shooting 5-for-5 in 26 minutes of action. Blake is a key piece of Green Bay's bench, which is fourth in the Horizon League in points scored.
