The Phoenix is 16-20 against the Badgers. Green Bay and Wisconsin first clashed on January 11, 1975, a 45-38 loss for GB. Wisconsin got the best of Green Bay earlier in the all-time series, winning 14 of the first 18 games, including the first six straight. However, Green Bay has flipped the script on their in-state rivals, posting a W in 12 of the past 18 since 2001. GB has won four of the past five home meetings against Wisconsin. Last season, the Phoenix took care of business at the Kohl Center in Madison, defeating Wisconsin 63-53.

ABOUT THE BADGERS
Marisa Moseley is in her second season as head coach of Wisconsin's program. Moseley, 12-29 so far with the Badgers, was hired in March 2021 after spending three successful years at her alma mater, Boston University, where she went 45-29. Moseley is 57-58 overall as a head coach.

Maty Wilke and Julie Pospisilova have created a dynamic duo for Bucky, with Wilke pacing the Badgers in points per game (13.8), steals per game (1.8), and minutes per game (33.5). Pospisilova, a Czech Republic native, averages a team-leading 3.8 assists per game. Although she has the same number of assists as Wilke, averages 1.5 assists per game because she has played in two more games.

LAST MATCHUP
Green Bay took an early 10-4 lead against the North Dakota State Bison on December 10. Bolstered by efficient shooting from three-point range, NDSU rallied to tie the game at 25 in the second quarter, and eventually took a 28-27 lead. However, the game broke open for Green Bay in the third quarter. The Phoenix led by four at the start of the period but turned it into a 14-point lead by the end. GB's lead peaked at 20 points with two minutes to play, and it finished at 18 after a Bison bucket.

DUB NATION
Head coach Kevin Borseth is in his 36th season as a head coach and 20th with Green Bay. Borseth is an impressive 460-137 in his first 19 years with the Phoenix and garnered his 770th career win against Northeastern on November 25. Borseth holds a 772-306 overall record, with stops at Michigan Tech, Michigan, and Green Bay. The Phoenix has punched a ticket to 13 NCAA appearances under Borseth.

MAKIN' MADDY
Sophomore forward Maddy Schreiber is quietly having a remarkable season. Schreiber is averaging 8.6 points per contest in 25.4 minutes per game. She is shooting 31-of-59 from the floor (52.5 percent) and 26-of-41 inside the arc (63.5 percent). Maddy tied her career-high in points (13) at IUPUI on Dec. 3.

JAS IT UP
Jasmine Kondrakiewicz has provided Green Bay with a spark off the bench this season. Kondrakiewicz also tied her career high in points (18) against North Dakota State on Dec. 10. The Milwaukee native is an impressive 18-of-41 from the field (43.9 percent) and 8-of-13 from downtown (61.5 percent).

WELCOME HOME
Natalie McNeal and Brehna Evans, who both transferred to Green Bay during the offseason, are local products. McNeal played high school basketball at Germantown and was a two-time All-State First Team member. Evans played at West De Pere HS, scoring over 1,000 career points with the Phantoms and averaging 14.5 points per contest.

KEEPING IT LOCAL
Kevin Borseth has garnered a plethora of talent from the state of Wisconsin. This season, 13 of the 15 players come from inside the state border. The only two not originally from the Dairyland are Jenna Guyer (Circle Pines, Minn.) and Tatum Koenig (West Branch, Iowa).

LIGHT IT UP LEVY
Senior guard Sydney Levy has been locked in this season, posting elite numbers from the field. Levy is shooting 30-of-60 (50 percent) overall while splashing 19 of 38 triples. Against North Dakota State, she racked up a season-high 18 points in 34 minutes. She shot 7-13 from the field and 4-8 from deep while grabbing three rebounds. Levy has tallied 14 or more points in three of the last four contests.

CHARITY STRIPE CHANCES
Green Bay has been otherworldly from the free-throw line since last season. In 2021-22, the Phoenix finished 9th in the country with a 78.9-percent team free throw percentage. Through eight games, GB ranks 1st in the nation with an 87.8-percent free throw percentage. Nine Phoenix are shooting 80 percent or higher, with three players tallying 10 or more free throw attempts. Bailey Butler is 15-for-16 (93.8 percent), Tatum Koenig is 10-for-12 (83.3 percent), and Hailey Oskey is 9-for-10 (90 percent). Cassie Schiltz has also impressed from the stripe, shooting 8-for-8.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The Phoenix play four of their next five contests at home. GB will host Chicago State on Dec. 21, Oakland on Dec. 29, and Detroit Mercy on Dec. 31. The lone away game is Illinois state on Dec. 18. Homestand highlights include Bud Light night against Chicago State, Military Appreciation Night against Oakland, and a New Year's Eve bash against Detroit Mercy.
