The Phoenix has played just one game all-time against the Cardinals. In the lone matchup, Green Bay came up short in a thriller on November 13, 2015, when Carrington Love scored 32 points in the 93-89 overtime loss. Meanwhile, Green Bay and Oregon State will be clashing for the first time on Sunday afternoon.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS
Jerod Haase has entered his seventh season with Stanford, posting a 101-96 record with the Cardinals entering the game against Green Bay.

Spencer Jones and Maxime Raynaud make a great duo for Stanford, with Jones leading the team at 14.3 points per game. Raynaud, a Paris, France native, paces Stanford with 5.6 rebounds per contest.

ABOUT THE BEAVERS
Wayne Tinkle, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, is in his ninth season at the helm of Oregon State's program. He is 120-143 leading up to the Beavers' game Friday night against Seattle.

Jordan Pope leads the Beavers at 14.3 points per contest, while Dzmitry Ryuny brings in 5.4 rebounds per game entering their Friday night game against Seattle.

LAST MATCHUP
Cade Meyer and Brock Heffner combined for 38 total points, but the Green Bay men's basketball team fell to the St. Thomas Tommies 82-61 on the road this past Tuesday. Meyer led the way for the Phoenix with 24 points and seven rebounds. Heffner added 14 points and Zae Blake added eight points and seven assists.

DON'T COUNT OUT CADE
Cade Meyer, a sophomore forward, scored a career-high 25 points in GB's win against Kansas City on Dec. 10. He followed up that performance by scoring 24 in the loss at St. Thomas last Tuesday. His efforts have made him the leading scorer for the season at 12.2 points per game. He is also one of three GB players to average 3.5 rebounds per game.

WHAT DO YOU ZAE?
Sophomore guard Zae Blake has been a difference-maker in his first season with Green Bay. Despite missing one game, Blake ranks at or near the top of most statistical categories on the team, including:

  • 2nd in points (10.5 PPG)
  • 1st in assists (2.7 APG)
  • 1st in steals (1.5 SPG)
  • 1st in field goal percentage (37-of-62, 59.7 percent)
  • 1st in three-point percentage (11-of-23, 47.8 percent)
  • Three-way tie for 1st in rebounds (3.5 RPG)

SHARING IS CARING
Blake facilitates the ball well for the Phoenix, pacing the team with 27 assists (2.7 per game). Blake continued to show off his skills when he recorded seven assists in the loss at St. Thomas, a season-high for the sophomore.

RANDY ON A ROLL
Redshirt junior guard Randy Tucker has been impactful off the bench for Green Bay. He is shooting 25-of-67 (37.3-percent) from the floor and has been dominant from the charity stripe, knocking down five free throws in six attempts. Tucker, a Rock Island, Illinois native, is second on the team with 3.0 rebounds while averaging 23.2 minutes per game.

ON THE ROAD
Following their trip out west, Green Bay will travel to Michigan for two Horizon League games in between the holidays. The squad will face Detroit Mercy on Thursday, December 29, and Oakland on Saturday, December 30. Two more Horizon League games round out the road trip, with games against Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday, January 5, and Cleveland State on Saturday, January 7. Green Bay's next home game isn't until Thursday, January 12, when the Phoenix will welcome the Wright State Raiders to the Resch Center on Military Appreciation Night.
