GREEN BAY, Wis. – The regular season has come to an end and the first round of the 2022 KEEPS Horizon League Championships starts tomorrow. Green Bay finished the season as the HL's No. 11 seed and will travel to No. 6 Detroit Mercy.

ABOUT THE TITANS
Detroit Mercy is led by Antoine Davis, the Horizon League's leading scorer at 23.7 points per game, while Madut Akec is second on the squad putting up 13.5 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game. Noah Waterman is third on the team in scoring (8.3) and DJ Harvey is fourth (8.0).
The Titans are one of the best three-point shooting teams in the Horizon League, making shots from deep at a 37.5-percent clip, the second-highest in the league. They also attempt the most threes per game in the league at 10.6. The Titans are middle of the road in most other statistical categories, including scoring margin, where they are seventh with a 0.9. The Phoenix will have their hands full at Calihan Hall, as the Titans are 8-1 at home this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Green Bay and Detroit mercy have met 63 times in their shared histories. GB leads the all-time series 35-28 and has won 15 of the last 19 against the Titans. The Phoenix is 13-16 all-time at Detroit.
LAST TIME OUT
Green Bay split their final road trip of the 2021-22 season, falling to UIC 81-77 Thursday before taking down IUPUI 67-41 on Saturday. After falling behind by 12 with just under nine minutes in Thursday's game, the Phoenix clawed back to make it a one-possession game late, but UIC free throws down the stretch put the game away for the Flames
GB controlled much of their matchup against IUPUI on Saturday. After falling behind 8-0 to start, the Phoenix ripped off a 32-8 run to close the half and take a 32-16 lead into the break. GB outscored the jaguars 35-25 in the second half and took the game 67-41. GB used a balanced offensive attack to down the Jags, led by 13 points from reigning Freshman of the Week
Kamari McGee, and 12 points from Manny Ansong.
LAST MATCHUP
Before Saturday's win over IUPUI, GB's last win came against Detroit Mercy on Jan. 20, 2022, at the Resch Center in Green Bay. The Phoenix was led by 16 points and five rebounds from
Cade Meyer.
Japannah Kellogg III also chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds. GB shot 52.0-percent from the floor and 42.1-percent from three as a team. The Titans shot 48.1-percent from the floor and 33.3-percent from three. The phoenix hurt Detroit on the boards, collecting a 31-23 advantage. The Green Bay bench was also a contributing factor, outscoring the Titans bench 19-2. Antoine Davis led Detroit with 25 points on 11-for-26 shooting from the floor and 2-for-13 shooting from three.
FRESHMAN PHENOMS

Kamari McGee and
Cade Meyer were both named to the #HLMBB All-Freshman Team.
McGee, a guard from Racine, Wis. is Green Bay's leading scorer and a three-time Horizon League Freshman of the Week. On the season, McGee averaged 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. He had four 20+ point performances, but the best came on Dec. 9, 2021, against Wright State when he scored a career-high 24 points to go with five boards and three steals.
Cade Meyer is another building block for the Green Bay men's basketball program, garnering one Horizon League Freshman of the Week award of his own. Meyer was strong all season, but especially so in league play. In 20 Horizon League games, Meyer averaged 10.8 points and 5.2 rebounds on 49.4-percent shooting. Meyer scored a career-high 20 points against Cleveland State on Dec. 20, 2022. He almost notched a double-double against the Vikings, pulling down nine rebounds as well.
NATE THE GREAT
Nate Jenkins has been a huge contributor for GB lately. Despite averaging just 2.1 points through Jan. 20, he has stepped for the Phoenix. Now averaging 6.5 points per contest, his best performance came on Feb. 4 at Cleveland State, when he recorded a career-high 19 points in a career-high 36 minutes. He shot 5-of-10 from the field that night, including 3-of-6 from deep and a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe. In his last nine games, he is averaging:
- 11.1 ppg
- 42.4-percent from the field (31-of-73)
- 38.2-percent from beyond the arc (13-of-34)
