MILWAUKEE, Wis. --The Green Bay volleyball team fell in straight sets to No. 19 Marquette at the Al McGuire Center Tuesday Night. The Golden Eagles' took the sets 25-10, 25-19, and 25-19. The non-conference loss dropped Green Bay to 5-5 on the season.
Alexandra Zakutney finished with a team-high nine kills, notching her 1,000th career kill late in the match. Zakutney is just the eighth in Green Bay Volleyball history to hit the 1,000 mark.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Phoenix couldn't get the offense going in set one, eventually falling 25-10. Marquette was firing on all cylinders in the set, finishing with a .417 attack percentage.
SET 2 | A 25-19 second-set loss put Green Bay in a 2-0 hole in the match. Green Bay trailed by as many as six points as Marquette grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that was tied up two times before the Golden Eagles took over the lead.
SET 3 | Green Bay couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Phoenix dropped the set 25-19 despite a strong showing on the attacking side. Green Bay registered a .310 attack percentage with 13 kills in the set loss.

» GB got a team-high 11 digs from Kayla Lass.
» Green Bay attackers were helped by a team-high 19 assists from Calli Gentry.
UP NEXT
GB will host the Green Bay Invite this weekend, with North Dakota, Drake, SIUE, and Western Illinois making the trip to Titletown on Friday and Saturday. The Phoenix will take on North Dakota at 11 a.m. on Friday followed by Drake at 7 p.m. They'll wrap the tournament up with SIUE on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Western Illinois at 5 p.m.
