GREEN BAY, Wis.- The Green Bay men's soccer team continued its winning ways Sunday afternoon with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bradley. Chris Album converted a penalty chance in the 54th minute to give the Phoenix a 1-0 lead which they never relinquished. The win improved Green Bay's record to 3-0-1 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams battled in the first half, with Green Bay on the front foot for most of it, taking six shots to the Braves two. However, neither team broke through until a penalty was drawn by Christoph Schurz. Album stepped up to take the penalty, and slotted it past the Bradley keeper for the lead.
The Braves didn't go down easy however, with their best chance to tie it up coming in the 76th minute on a headed effort off of a corner kick. Tobias Jahn was on his toes, and made a leaping save to maintain the Phoenix clean sheet.
