INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced this morning the 2023-24 Under Armour women's basketball preseason poll. After being crowned the conference regular season championship last year, Green Bay has been picked to finish first this season. The Phoenix tallied all 11 first-place votes over reigning HL tournament champion Cleveland State.
GB returns nine players from the 2023-23 championship campaign. The Phoenix added true freshmen Meghan Schultz, Sophie Lahti, and Maren Westin while bringing in Natalie Andersen (IUPUI) from the transfer portal.
Bailey Butler, one of the returnees entering her junior season, was selected to the Preseason All-League First Team.
Green Bay begins the 2023-24 season with an exhibition game next Wednesday, October 25, at the Kress Center against UW-Stout. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets here.
