VALPARAISO, Ind. – The Green Bay swim and dive team had a phenomenal day at Valparaiso, coming out with victories on the men's and women's sides. The GB men defeated Valpo 209-79, while the women secured 181.5 points to the Beacons' 98.5.

Max Kasal was incredible, placing first in three events: the 400-yard relay, 100-yard fly, and 200-yard freestyle. He bested the second-place finisher by at least three seconds in all of the victories but was most impressive on the freestyle, where he won by nearly five seconds. John Burnard was also solid for the Phoenix, placing first in the 1000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. He was ahead of the second-place finisher by nearly seven seconds in the 1000-yard freestyle, while winning the 500-yard free by nearly six seconds. Burnard also took third in the 200-yard fly with a time of 1:58.54.

McKenna Metropulos dominated for the ladies, placing first in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard fly. She narrowly beat out Valpo's Kailyn Benoit in the 100-yard event, besting her by less than a full second. The story was the same for the Eland, Wisconsin native in the 50-yard event, beating Faith Bargwell by 0.70 seconds. Kaleigh Gale also stood out for GB, notching first-place finishes in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. She won the 200-yard event by several seconds but escaped with the victory in the 100-yard event by 0.63 seconds. Gale was also part of the 400-yard free relay team that tallied a first-place completion for Green Bay.
