Green Bay Athletics Announces Multi-year Partnership with Capital Credit Union

Phoenix student-athletes will be provided with opportunities for financial literacy education as they advance through their degree programs.

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Green Bay Athletics is excited to announce a new wide-ranging, multi-year partnership with Capital Credit Union. The partnership will provide many opportunities for engagement that will positively impact Phoenix student-athletes, the greater Green Bay/Fox Valley region, and Capital Credit Union employees and members.  "We are thrilled for this exciting new partnership with Capital Credit Union, said Director of Athletics Josh Moon. "Capital's core values align perfectly with ours – especially their focus on relationships and dreaming big. The Phoenix is on the rise, and we want to thank the entire Capital team for their belief in UWGB and Phoenix Athletics." 

Phoenix student-athletes will be provided with opportunities for financial literacy education as they advance through their degree programs. Capital Credit Union employees and members will receive expanded access to Phoenix athletic events to build community ties and deepen relationships. To show the impact of this new partnership to this region and beyond, the Capital Credit Union logo will be displayed on Carol's Court at the Kress Events Center.

On Monday, Oct. 9, head men's basketball coach Sunny Wicks addressed the Capital Credit Union employees at their annual employee meeting, while Green Bay Cheerleaders, Dance Team members and Phlash pumped the crowd up.

"This partnership with UWGB is one that brings a lot of excitement, because it's a partnership that goes beyond signage and sponsorship," said CCU Chief Marketing Officer Steve Zich. "It's a partnership that will strengthen financial literacy among the student body and provide access to UWGB sporting events for our members. It's a true alignment of shared values and commitment to the communities we serve."

Capital Credit Union's investment in Green Bay Athletics contributes to the sustainable future of the department and will help give Phoenix student-athletes the best opportunity to excel in competition, in the classroom, and in the community.

ABOUT GREEN BAY ATHLETICS
Green Bay Phoenix Athletics supports 14 NCAA Division I varsity men's and women's sports, with 12 competing in the Horizon League. Entering their 42nd year of Division I athletics, and serving as the only Division I school in the State of Wisconsin north of Madison, the Phoenix is "Northeast Wisconsin's Division I Team." The Phoenix has won 44 conference championships including 25 in women's basketball and four in men's basketball, and have made 23 total appearances in NCAA March Madness tournaments. Green Bay student-athletes excel in the classroom, earning above a 3.25 average GPA for the last 18 semesters, and give back to the region with over 2,000 total volunteer hours to various non-profits/and schools in the past year.
