DAYTON, Ohio - Emma Best and Hannah Vanden Berg both secured double-doubles, but the Green Bay volleyball team fell to the Wright State Raiders 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 17-25, 23-25) Saturday on the road at CJ McLin Gymnasium.
Vanden Berg finished the day with 14 kills and a season-high 20 digs ,while Best had 13 kills and 13 digs. Cora Behnke and Tiffany Paalman also chipped in with 12 and 10 kills each. Paalman also led the team defensively with a season-high seven blocks.
Megan Alders led the Raiders with 18 kills. Sam Ott was also strong for WSU, finishing with 15 kills and 18 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 | The Phoenix went on an early 5-0 run to grab a 6-2 lead that they would never give up en route to a 25-22 set win. Solid defense was key for GB, as the front row blocked five Wright State attacks.
SET 2 | Green Bay then lost the second set 25-22, tying the match at a set apiece. The Raiders got going offensively, finishing with 16 kills on a .325 attack percentage.
SET 3 | Wright State grabbed a 2-1 lead after taking the third set by a commanding 25-17. WSU ripped off a 12-4 run at the start of the set to give them an 18-8 lead that they would see out the remainder of the way.
SET 4 | Green Bay lost the fourth set and the match, falling 25-23. The Phoenix played well offensively with 14 kills on a .306 hitting percentage, but the Raiders were even better, finishing the set with 20 kills on a .333.
GAME NOTES

» Emma Johnson had a match-high two aces.
» Johnson finished the match with 46 assists for the second straight match.
UP NEXT
Green Bay will close out the regular season next week at the Kress Center when they host Oakland and Cleveland State. GB will take on Oakland on Friday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. before taking on the Vikings on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. Saturday is Senior Night for the Phoenix.
