AMES, Iowa - The Green Bay men's basketball team couldn't keep up at Iowa State Monday night, falling to the Cyclones 85-44 at Hilton Coliseum.
The Phoenix had two players score in double figures, led by Noah Reynolds, who had 14 points. Foster Wonders was the other, adding 11 points off of the bench while freshman Marcus Hall added seven points and seven rebounds.
Iowa State was led by an 18-point, seven-rebound performance from Milan Momcilovic, who went 6-for-7 from deep on the night. Keshon Gilbert added 17 points for Iowa State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cyclones took control of the game early, starting on a 9-0 run before David Douglas Jr. hit a three to get the Phoenix on the board. Iowa State went on another 7-0 run and went up 16-3 before the under-16 media timeout. The Cyclones shot 19-for-31 (61.3-percent) from the floor in the first half and went into halftime up 49-18.
Iowa State kept widening its lead after intermission and eventually took the contest 85-44.
GAME NOTES
» Green Bay shot 28.3-percent from the floor while ISU shot 47.0-percent.
» Iowa State outrebounded the Phoenix 44-29.
» Behind Hall's team-high seven rebounds. Two other Phoenix pulled down five each – Reynolds and Elijah Jones.
» The Cyclones had 25 points from their bench compared to 12 from the Phoenix.
COMING UP
Green Bay will look to get the first win of the season on Thursday, Nov. 9 against St. Francis (Ill.). The game is the Jill & Company at Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group Home Opener and will tip-off at 6 p.m. at the Kress Center.
