GREEN BAY, Wis. – Nonconference action came to a close for the Green Bay men's basketball team Thursday night as the Phoenix took down MSOE, 79-46.

The Phoenix (6-7) had three players score in double figures, led by David Douglas Jr., who poured in a career-high 15 points to go with five rebounds. Fellow freshman Marcus Hall also matched his career-high with 12 points, and Noah Reynolds chipped in 10 points, four assists, and two steals.

Green Bay was stout defensively, holding MSOE to 26.1 percent shooting from the field and 11.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc. GB finished the night shooting 53.7 percent from the floor, their second-best mark of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE grabbed an early 4-1 lead in the first few minutes before the Phoenix rattled off an 18-4 run in a six-minute span to take a 19-8 lead after a Preston Ruedinger layup with 12:27 left in the first half. That Green Bay lead would hold for the remainder of the half, with the Raiders momentarily cutting it to eight before it ballooned back up to 12 after a Hall layup sent GB into the half up 36-24.

Green Bay started the second half with a 9-0 run and never looked back. The Phoenix outscored the Raiders 43-22 in the frame and shot 17-for-23 (73.9 percent) from the floor in the second. GB also hit 7-of-11 (63.6 percent) from deep in the second half.

The Green & White will restart Horizon League play after Christmas when they host Wright State on Friday, Dec. 29 at noon, followed by Robert Morris on Sunday, Dec. 31 at noon at the Resch Center. The Phoenix is 1-1 in the Horizon League so far this season.
